NMK is a multi-disciplinary institution whose role is to collect, preserve, study, document and present Kenya’s past and present cultural and natural heritage. It is open daily from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Kenya shillings and US dollars are accepted. Other smaller museums can be found within the city center namely: The National Archives and the Nairobi Gallery.
